What exactly is a bar loan? My firm is paying for my bar prep and exam, which is great. I'm mainly concerned about housing ($1500/month) and living expenses.

I took out a bar loan. 8K via Sallie Mae. (and I have awful credit, so if I qualify you will too). Plan on just paying it off in one fell swoop when i get my bonus in the fall.
