Is it proper etiquette after having an interview to email the judge's clerk to ask when the judge might be making decisions or if the judge already decided? For context, the interview was a few weeks ago and the judge said a decision would be made before April.

Also, does the lack of any phone calls or emails mean an automatic rejection?

I think its totally fine after a few weeks to check in, re-express your interest and politely inquire as to when they expect to make a decision

I think the general practice is to let the post-interview rejects know by phone or email. Silent rejections for interviewees are uncommon, though I'm sure they happen.

I wouldn't assume that you're rejected. In my experience, judges will often say "I'm going to make a decision by X date" and then not actually make a decision until days or weeks after that date.

As for your etiquette question, I think it's fine to contact the JA (don't contact a clerk) to ask for an update if it's been a few weeks.

Some districts let me know, others were simply and update on OSCAR. I can say the ones that let me know were typically Judges from the more competitive districts.
