Bad UG GPA + Median at T6 = DOA?

I've got a sub 3.3 GPA from an elite UG and am median at a T6. I was probably a stretch for a clerkship in my preferred locations to begin with (IL, VA, DC, MD, NY, TX, CA, OH), but a lot of the judges want UG grades and I feel like that's gonna sink me.
I was basically a B+/A- student all along, but had 1 really tragic semester in which I got multiple Cs.

UG grades won't matter for most judges. Your median law school grades are a much bigger problem, but can be overcome with hustle, luck, and persistence.

it seems unlikely that a median student from NYU or CLS would get a clerkship in a desirable location, if at all, unless they have amazing professor recs or legitimate connections amongst legal aristocracy

"Hustle" means (among other things) that you apply broadly, not only in desirable locations. And "persistence" means that you have to keep at it for months or years; you may not get anything until you're a year or two out of law school. (Once you have a year or two of lit experience, law school grades become somewhat less important.)
People with median grades from T14 schools do get clerskships. I see their transcripts and resumes. It's not common, but it's not as rare as you might think.
