Any info about who is taking applications, whether it's oscar, mail, or both, and what the general timeframe is for applying to the first circuit for the 2017-2018 term?

I believe Selya just starting taking aps (via posting on oscar), and I hear Barron has hired one already, but that's all I got.

any other tips, such as Judges who like alums vs. new grads vs. former fedclerks; judges who are more amenable to phone calls, etc. would be helpful, if anybody knows any insider knowledge like this.

Barron had hired one for 2017 quite a while ago; I don't think he's moved at all since. Not sure if he's actively considering applications or not.

My school's JCO reported a couple months ago that Thompson had hired 3/4 for 2017 already. Wouldn't be surprised if she's full by this point.

Lipez and Kayatta haven't started looking yet, I believe.

Stahl just began the hiring process for 2016, according to OSCAR.

Howard hiring yet?

Are there any judges that look for Boston/ New England ties in particular?
