If you land a clerkship in a 6th circuit district but go to a firm in Chicago, would they throw you a bonus and bump your class year? Or not care?

I think pretty much every firm would give you the bonus and start you as a second year. Why don't you ask the specific firm?

The bonus is for the experience and the prestige, not for the connections in the relevant district (though that's an additional plus if its relevant).
