I'm a very borderline candidate for Art. III clerkships. I haven't found TCR when it comes to paper vs. OSCAR, though it appears from previous threads that paper may be better.


If a judge is open to either option, does it really matter if I do paper instead of the quicker/easier OSCAR process? Does anyone have any more up-to-date information about this?

I would recommend paper applications for judges that do not specifically say they only accept OSCAR applications.

I received multiple interviews and eventually received an offer to clerk for a judge who had class standing cutoffs (i.e. top 10%) that I didn't meet.

If you apply through OSCAR the judge/clerk can simply filter your application out without even looking at it. If you send them a paper application you at least know that somebody will have to look over you resume.
