I'm kind of SOL when it comes to writing samples. I have some motion work from a past job, and I have permission to use whichever I choose. However, many of them lack analysis/fairly straight forward cases. What's TCR when it comes to using a short (8-10 page) motion that has a fair amount of rule statements/precedent in it? I know that it doesn't have any bluebook errors, but it lacks in-depth analysis. A lot of "P didn't demonstrate irreparable harm" etc. then only one or two statements to basically throw away P's bogus claims. It also cites to the record a lot, but I'd discard those citations for application purposes.
I also have a more policy-based writing sample that gives a bit more analysis but it's a lot more like an academic paper (theoretical).
Thoughts?
