Future Clerks--How Do You Describe On Resume/Bio?

Hiring years out has become more and more common, but how should future clerks deal with noting the credential?

What is the conventional wisdom on how to note a future clerkship on a resume--should one simply use "Expected"? Also, does a future clerkship make a law firm bio? If so, what is the consensus on how it should be described?

I have it formatted as follows:

The Honorable Judge's name, Court Location
Judicial Law Clerk 2015-2016 Term

No narrative.

When I accepted my SA position I did the same type of format but used Summer 2014.

You don't... It would be inappropriate to place it on a firm bio.

I really don't see how this is a question. It's neither relevant to a firm bio nor is it appropriate...

What the fuck are you talking about? I'd say 80% of firm profiles I've seen have mentioned a clerkship or two, at least among litigators. Obviously it's both relevant and appropriate, probably a metric fuckton more so than journal experience or whatever.

In general, firm bios will list past clerkships but not future ones. That said, I have seen a couple of exceptions (for instance, at a boutique where an associate is leaving in several months to clerk for SCOTUS).

Chill bro. Clearly you didn't read the thread. Try reading it next time. This is about whether to put a future clerkship on a firm bio... And I've never seen a future clerkship listed on a bio, and, to be honest, listing a future clerkship could/would be off-putting.

This isn't that complicated.

1. Indicate in some way that the future clerkship is "expected."
2. Don't list a future clerkship on your firm biography, if your firm would even let you.
