Thank You Notes - Who to send to

Quick question regarding thank you notes. I had an interview with a judge and left with the judicial assistant and clerk's contact information, but not the judge's. Should I call and ask for the email address for the judge or send a thank you note to the assistant and ask her to pass it along?
Thanks!

I think a handwritten card makes a better impression than an email would. That's what I did with the judge I shadowed.
Just my two cents.

For the record, 0Ls are not supposed to post in this forum, either.
And I would write to the judicial assistant - judges don't always like to give out their e-mails.

Definitely this. Don't write and ask for the judge's email address. Just send your thank you e-mail to the JA; she will forward it to the judge.

Agreed that you can write to the JA, but you can also likely get the Judge's email from the Almanac of the Federal Judiciary on Westlaw if you want to go that route. Unnecessary, but if you had a good interview with the Judge, a note to her personally could be a good touch.

I really don't think e-mailing a judge if they didn't give you the e-mail is a good idea.

D. ct. clerk here. Seconded.
