Part-time side jobs.

I'm a d. ct. clerk and I am broke. I talked to my judge about getting a part-time side job (evenings, weekends) and he's fine with it, so long as it's permitted under the ethics rules, etc. Obviously, legal work of some sort would be nice, but it seems like the only work I could do is academic. I've looked around the area and can't find anything.

I'm not ruling out being a barista or bar tending, but I would strongly prefer to do stuff remotely/online because my schedule at the court can be hard to predict.

Any suggestions? My co-clerk did some book editing a few years ago, but I can't find much.

You're broke on a district court clerk salary? How?

I see LSAT/ACT/SAT advertisements all the time. You can try teach a class after work, and can probably make a decent amount per hour. You can also look at being a tutor for law students, college kids, or even high school kids. I'm sure you can tutor students in classes like government, social studies, and political science.

Do law school app consulting. You'll be able to charge $100/hr easy with your qualifications.

Put up ads at your local university.
