I'm looking for a job in a secondary market. So far, vault firms don't seem to be doing anything, but I've gotten tremendous amounts of interest from midlaw and lit boutiques.

Little morale boost for those who haven't heard much. I hadn't heard anything for like a month, but one day last week I got 5 interview requests in like 1.5-2 hours. Keep at it! You never know when your hard work will pay off.

CoA clerk. Top 15% from T14. 2L summer in major market at V25 firm. Applied to most of V25 in NYC.

Applied everywhere in Jan and interviewed everywhere in Jan. Accepted offer at V10 firm.

Didn't hear from DPW, Paul Weiss, Cravath, or Simpson Thacher.

Rejected (meaning no interview) at WLRK and Quinn Emannuel.

Congrats! Mind telling us where you received offers from that you didn't accept?

Also, did you ever get a rejection from WLRK or just no response?

Anyone who interviewed with Gibson DC have any tips for interviews? They'd be greatly appreciated!

Disclosing where I received offers but didn't accept indicates where I did accept haha.

Email rejection from WLRK and Quinn (and, as of today, STB).

I'm looking for a biglaw position in NYC beginning in February or March 2016, when my D. Ct. clerkship ends. When is the appropriate time to start applying? I was thinking the summer. Thanks.

Curious to hear...do people feel like they are faring better or worse than during 2L on-campus recruiting?

Callbacks have been coming at a higher rate with offers coming at a slightly lower rate from firms I have heard from. Several firms have taken a long time to get back to me post-callback. This is true while going after more prestigious or more selective firms, i.e., firms that were not giving me a look at OCI. So overall, I would say better, in terms of the greater breadth of opportunities.

I have had a few interviews. It is a tough market overall right now. I am not SDNY or DE.

That's what I've heard. Interviews are good though. Do you think you would have otherwise been competitive for the places you've interviewed?

mid law SA and ended up getting v30 for post clerkship, I'm pretty happy with the results. It was odd to get interviews at firms that wouldn't have considered me during 2L.

I am the OP from another thread but I thought I would post the same question here. For those of you who have and are currently going through the current post-clerkship hiring process, how big of a risk is it to leave ask to delay Biglaw offer in a large market to clerk at a "flyover" district court? Risk as in, not being able to come back to your summer firm or another Biglaw firm. I am a current 2L.

All the same for me, except I have gotten some offers. I am personally happy with my options. But from a vault ranking perspective and an offer/interview ratio perspective I had better results at OCI than I'm having now.

I just got a 2016 COA clerkship, and might try and switch firms. With respect to when to apply, this thread is very helpful. From your experience, are there firms that hire clerks more consistently than others?

The answer to your question is yes. But I imagine you would want to use other criteria to decide where to go after your clerkship than that.

Gibson DC had one offer to give... just an FYI for any of those folks holding out hope.

Any of you guys have luck with firms that rejected you at OCI? Hoping my clerkship will put me over the top, but not sure if they really care if your grades were clerkship-level anyway.

I got interviews with three very selective firms - all of which declined to give me a callback at OCI. None of them extended an offer, though. So it helped, for sure, but was still not enough.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
