Too late to send applications?

I'm a rising 3L working at a firm. I'm not loving it and reconsidering whether I should have applied to clerkships. I have good grades (top 15%) at a t14. is it too late for me or, if I scrambled, is there hope?

Depends on what market you want. There are still new clerkships being posted on OSCAR for 2015 everyday, but if you wanted SDNY, CDCA, DDC, or some other ultra competitive district, that ship has sailed.

I applied for district court clerkships (not SDNY or DDC, but not flyover either) in October 2013 for the 2014-2015 term and was fine, but I'd recommend applying as soon as possible.

Not at all. A lot are full, especially in the Northeast, but a number of 15-16's (and even some 14-15's) are still hiring. But I would apply ASAP. I think that a number of judges that are still hiring roughly on plan are starting to make calls--after not hearing anything for a while, I had two interview requests during the week of 6/28 and one request last week.

For the new ones being posted daily, how important do you think it is to apply as soon as they are posted? I know this obviously varies by judge, but do most let the open application sit for a few weeks, or is it beneficial to apply within the first couple of days that the position is posted?
