Anyone else's grades drop after securing clerkships

Just graduated and definitely had a downward slope in grades in doctrinal classes--granted at a HYS. It was substantially evened out by grades in paper classes/clinics, but...I'm not worried about being asked for a transcript or anything, but it is frustrating, especially since I don't think I really tried any less hard. Part of me wonders what it says about my readiness for the job this fall.

I guess this topic is just kind of wondering if anyone else had similar feelings before starting...

and yes I know this is somewhat petty but that's why I can't really run it by friends in real life :|

You'll almost certainly have to provide a transcript. But I think for most judges your grades would have really had to go off the rails before your job might be in jeopardy.

I haven't been asked for a transcript and none of my intake paperwork requires it.

My first judge never asked for a transcript and later told me that he wouldn't have cared if my grades dropped. My second judge explicitly told me not to slack off after getting hired. I can't remember if he asked for a transcript, but I sent him one anyways.

OP here:

I don't think the grades would be worrisome to the judge even if he asked. As far as I can estimate from our system, i wouldn't have dropped more than about 10% from where I was...I think.

When did your judge ask for your transcript? I'm starting this year and my judge hasn't asked for it yet, and I already filled out my paperwork. I'm just curious if s/he'll want it later or not. Maybe s/he'll want it when we start, though.

I was never asked for a final transcript.

When I started.

I only ever had to submit transcripts to judges when I applied. I can't remember if I had to submit transcripts when I started, but if I did, they went to HR as part of the hiring paperwork, and I'm quite sure the judges never saw them.

If you're not working for a feeder, it's less likely to happen.
