D. Ct. chances after COA?

Will clerk for a non-2/9/DC COA, non-feeder in 2015. What are my chances for subsequent D. Ct. clerkship in a competitive district like EDNY or SDNY in 2016? What about other districts? (Will have a year of biglaw and a year of COA experience at that point.)

School range: CCN
Rank: est. 15-20%
LR?: Secondary journal, senior board; no moot court
Published?: no
Recs: three to four solid recs from professors
2L/3L/Alum?: alum
Where applying?: Northeast, maybe California
Other: work at V20; did very well in a class taught by a SDNY/EDNY/N.D.Ill. judge (relevant?); TA & RA work

Thanks!

Surely it helps. Hard to say, I can say that I went from a non D.C. Cir. COA to SDNY/DDC/EDNY, though. Probably helped.

Thanks--do you think you would have been competitive for SDNY/EDNY/DDC already, before the clerkship?

I think so. I got an SDNY call from my first batch of applications (the ones that got me my COA). It wasn't from a "famous" judge or anything but it was still there. I think a strong recommendation helped a lot
