Judges never notifying interviewees after selecting clerks?

Apologies if this has been addressed before, but how common is it for judges to simply never follow up with candidates after an interview? Had an interview with a COA judge a few weeks ago. He said at the time that he'd have answers in a week or so, and his assistant called the next week to ask if I were still available and said he planned to decide the following week, but I haven't heard anything in a couple weeks. I'm wondering if I should just assume that I'm no longer in the running since I still haven't heard anything, or if it's traditional to receive some kind of e-mail confirmation from a judge once he's finished selecting his clerks...

They are busy and old. It's not unusual for them to ignore you if you're not selected.

There's nothing wrong with calling chambers and asking if you are still in contention at this point, imo.

It may be delayed a few weeks but I heard from all five COA judges that didn't hire me. One was about a month after the interview, a huge delay since I actually knew the clerk that was hired instead of me and he'd found out three weeks prior to my rejection email. But I echo that there is nothing wrong with calling and following up.
