Lot's of great info on Holmes, which is much appreciated. I have also seen negative things about Hartz on this board, but not as detailed. Does anyone have personal or secondhand experience they would be willing to share?
Have to work on weekends (half days), and he can be temperamental and moody. But not nearly as bad as Holmes. Hartz is nice to litigants, and his opinions are good.

Is Hartz the judge on the Tenth who makes his law clerks schedule appointments in order for them to speak with him?

I've heard he's not very personable whatever that means. Him and Holmes I was told to not apply to on the Tenth from my school's clerkship office. Based on what seems to be like borderline cruel behavior of Holmes (made all the more cruel by the fact that Bacharach, who I hear is great, is also in the same building I think), I can't imagine that Hartz is even close to the level of Holmes. But hey, I could be wrong.

Not Hartz; probably Holmes again.

Hartz is like super impersonal to his clerks though so this would be something in his wheelhouse.

I was told it was one of the 10CA judges in New Mexico. And I know people who clerked for Carson and Baldock, so I know it wasn't either of them.

I got an email on the day of my application submission stating that I'd be notified by today if selected for an interview. No notification today, though.

Any murmurings on if/ when the senior eligible judges will take senior status?

Any (recent) information on Matheson? Wondering if he's mellowed or not.

Anyone know if the 2024 Eid posting on OSCAR is real, or if that's just old?

Yeah nope. His law clerks aren't allowed to leave Utah or take federal holidays off still.

Still up last I checked. Unsure what she's looking for/what's taking her so long.

She’s a very slow hirer so that doesn’t sound unusual. She hires a lot from Chicago and doesn’t hire ideologically.

Yes, when she was on the state Supreme Court, her practice was to hire one DU grad, one CU grad, and one Chicago grad. Can't say whether that's still true, of course. I know someone who took a class with her and got an interview for a clerkship with good but not spectacular grades, so I have the impression fit is important. (But obviously, a very limited data point.)

Can confirm she has not hired yet and that she is slow.

Federico has already hired 2024-2025 FYI. Next openings would probably be August/September 2025.

Federico got his commission not even two months ago. I wonder if he’s even sat yet. Can’t imagine there’s much to say about him.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
