Just wanted to see if anyone had input as to how long (or short) Judges waited until contacting applicants--I realize this will be judge specific.

FYI, I submitted my apps via OSCAR (and a few by mail) within the previous two weeks. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Mike: Well how long are you guys gonna wait to call your babies?

For me it ranged from hours to months. I wouldn't read much into not hearing anything for two weeks. Many judges let applications pile up and then do a bunch of interviews in one go. That said, you might consider applying to more judges if you want to improve your odds.

There is no way to answer that. They are all different. With that being said, if you have some contanct (like a former law clerk or a professor that knows your judge, etc), you will get a quick response outside of the normal time. There is no way for you to gauge this. I recieved my offer 3 weeks after I interviwed and I thought I did not get the gig. But when I got to chambers, I realized that the judge had a super heavy docket during that time period so he wasnt able to interview people back to back, hence the delay. So in other words, unless you know someone in chambers, there is no point in you trying to anticipate when they will get back to you because gazillion factors go into it.

How will the timeline be affected if you have a recommender who is dragging his feet? Will judges wait until they have every recommendation in?
