If one does not plan to clerk, I'm curious to hear what your thoughts are on doing a 2nd Art. III district court judicial internship. I did my first Art. III district judicial internship in 1L summer (in a different state from LS) and have both semesters of 3L-year free to do another one (as a class), not sure whether its worth it.

I've seen 2 judicial internships on some lawyers' bio page, and have always been curious on why they do 2.

Maybe they were trying to build connections for a clerkship? But if you're not looking to clerk, that rationale doesn't help you very much.

Doing two different kinds courts makes sense - I interned for a state supreme court and a federal district court; I could also see doing a federal district court and a federal COA, or state trial level and federal trial level, or state trial level and state appellate. Anything where the courts are different (so you could also throw specialty courts into the mix - tax/bankruptcy/etc). Doing two internships with exactly the same court isn't going to hurt you - you get to know 2 different judges, theoretically - but it's not really going to add anything.
