Applying as an Alumni: Is litigation practice necessary?

Basically, I am curious if anyone has/knows anyone who has practiced corporate law for a few years, and then left their firm to clerk. If so, any sense of how much more difficult the process was for you/that person? Have any advice for someone looking to do something similar?

Thanks!

Don't know anyone personally, but since this hasn't gotten much action I'll chime in-- I met a couple folks while doing callbacks who had used a clerkship to transition to a litigation practice after deciding they didn't like corporate. All were relatively early in their careers when they did this-- think 1-3 years. None of them were in traditional biglaw firms though-- all small litigation boutiques (though well regarded ones that paid biglaw or biglaw-plus salaries).
