Do judges do callback interviews? I was asked to meet with a judge whom I had interviewed with already, and I found out that prior to him asking me to meet with him again, he had called one of my references that day as well.

If so, what should I expect? I already provided writing samples, which we discussed briefly, and spent quite a bit of time speaking with his secretary and current clerk at my first interview.
