D.C. Circuit 2015-16?

I suspect people are not going to want to reveal much about this but worth a try for the good Samaritans out there--has anyone started seriously looking for 2015-2016 yet?
I know Kavanaugh basically does rolling apps, but that's all I know.
HYS here with a Circuit Court (non-2/9) for 2014.

Are you trying to get a feeder judge? Otherwise, what's the point of another circuit clerkship?

Well, kind of. My grades weren't feeder quality before but when I applied I wasn't published (will be next year) and obviously didn't have the 2014 clerkship. I seem to interview well and have strong recommendations, so I thought it would be worth going for.
In the alternative, part of me thought a clerkship in D.C. might be useful generally, since I want to practice there. On the other hand I already have a summer position at a "good" D.C. firm so it might not add much value.

I know of at least one DC Circuit judge other than Kavanaugh who has been hiring for 2015 since the early spring.

Griffith, like Kavanaugh, has been openly accepting applications for 2015 since February. (He only had one 2014 spot to fill.) Tatel has also filled 2014 and is accepting applications for 2015.
The question is whether any of these judges have made offers for 2015. I have no inside information about that.

Any info on which terms Srinivasan has already hired and is currently interviewing for?

I know he's made at least one hire for 2013-2014. My guess is that he probably filled up his current clerks pretty quickly.

Bump. Curious if a Non feeder DC Circuit clerkship adds much value if you've already done a circuit court clerkship

If you're looking to do regulatory, yes.
EDIT: Also helpful for academia and an incredible place to make future connections.

I would say yes, if you're looking to practice in DC. (Otherwise, probably not.) Even the least feeder-y D.C. Circuit judges are still well known and regarded in DC--so there's a networking effect as well as a signaling effect (they're also still exceptionally competitive clerkships).

I have to disagree here. If you already have a COA clerkship, there is not really in value in doing a non-feeder DC Circuit clerkship (and even feeder clerkships are of questionable value). The only real exception is if you take a clerkship with a judge like Williams, who encourages his clerks to take the time to write during the clerkship.
If you want to litigate, you'd be better off doing a district court clerkship rather than a second COA.
If you want to do regulatory work, you'd probably have been best off not clerking, but otherwise getting to a firm as soon as possible is the best thing for true regulatory work (what matters for regulatory work is (a) a deep understanding of the relevant organic statutes and (b) a deep understanding of the relevant agency).

Thanks for the advice all, especially ClerkAdvisor. I think I'll take a shot at the D.C. feeders, and just plan to go right to the firm in the event those don't work out.

Looks like both Tatel and Kavanaugh have posted updates to their OSCAR pages. Tatel still has three openings for 2015-'16 (suggesting he did no hiring on-plan; one slot was filled in February) and Kavanaugh still has two.

Is Srinivasan finished hiring for 2014? Any other movement?

Interesting that Tatel has stopped taking applications for 2015 and beyond (OSCAR: "Until further notice, I will not be considering applications for the 2015-2016 or 2016-2017 terms."). There have been rumors for a while that he's considering taking senior status--maybe this is a signal?

Judge Srinivasan spoke at an event in the last two weeks where he said something like he had gone through a cycle and a half of hiring clerks. I took that to mean he was not done with 2014 but I don't know beyond that.

Thanks. Did he say anything about criteria he's looking for, whom he's hired, or the like?

Not the anon who heard him speak, but I know of two people he's hired for this term about to start. Both graduated magna from HLS.

Is there anything left for 2014? Oscar indicates a few judges still have spots. Can anyone confirm?

Brown hired at least one for 2014. A former bank robber and jailhouse attorney (abovethelaw) has the story.

PSA: Garland and Srinivasan have posted notices to OSCAR that they are accepting applications, including from 2Ls. No one seems to know if they will actually hire this fall, but it's certainly possible that things will get off to a (much) earlier start than last year.

I know he's made some hires for 2015-2016, so he must not be stepping down before then.
