What year are you interested in? DDC has already hired lots of people for 2014-15.Anonymous User wrote:Any movement?
Boasberg has been interviewing since at least late February for 2015-'16 (I know several 2Ls at my HYS school who have interviewed), but I don't know if he has extended any offers.Anonymous User wrote:Not OP, but I'm interested in whether there's been movement for 2015-16.
Whoa.Anonymous User wrote:Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson (newly confirmed) is already full for 2014.
Anyone know whether the Boasberg interviews tie to Tatel COA clerkships? They are reported to have a working relationship to fulfill Tatel's preference that COA clerks have DCt experience.Anonymous User wrote:Boasberg has been interviewing since at least late February for 2015-'16 (I know several 2Ls at my HYS school who have interviewed), but I don't know if he has extended any offers.Anonymous User wrote:Not OP, but I'm interested in whether there's been movement for 2015-16.
As far as I know, this partnership is pretty limited, since Boasberg prefers that his clerks have COA experience. He's hired at least two of three for '15, both with prior COA clerkships.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know whether the Boasberg interviews tie to Tatel COA clerkships? I know of two Boasberg clerks-to-be (admittedly small sample size), neither with a Tatel connection. One will have clerked for COA (not D.C. Cir.) and one will have worked for a year.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know whether the Boasberg interviews tie to Tatel COA clerkships? If this poster is hanging around the forums, want to PM me? Curious about details, if you know any.Anonymous User wrote:Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson (newly confirmed) is already full for 2014.
That was me. I don't really have any other details. I mailed application materials to her immediately after she was confirmed, and I received a letter this week saying that she has already finished her hiring for the 2013 and 2014 terms.CromwellTLS wrote:If this poster is hanging around the forums, want to PM me? Judge Jackson had been soliciting clerkship apps on the low for at least three months before confirmation. It looks like she made decisions almost immediately after her confirmation based on those prior applications. Source: professors and career services at my school put the word out over the last few months.Anonymous User wrote:That was me. I don't really have any other details. Thanks to both posters. PP, was there an e-mail address associated with the solicitation or was the judge asking for paper apps? (I have a 2014 COA clerkship and am looking to clerk on DDC in 2015.) Feel free to PM.Anonymous User wrote:Judge Jackson had been soliciting clerkship apps on the low for at least three months before confirmation. Supposed to be a great boss; I think he primarily hires from HY and from the top of the class at DC-area schools. Requires two years of work experience but often hires two years out (i.e., hired one 3L in Sept. 2012 at my HY school for a 2015 clerkship).Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know anything about Judge Leon? Reputation, experience, competitiveness etc. Thanks.
Leon hired one from ND for 2016 already.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know anything about Judge Leon? Reputation, experience, competitiveness etc. Thanks.
Note that he's been recently nominated to DC Circuit so I doubt there'll be any movement for hiring DDC clerks until he's either confirmed or stalls out.Anonymous User wrote:Any info on Wilkins for 2014 or 2015?
Lamberth is finished for 2014 and at least part of 2015Anonymous User wrote:Any word on Lamberth?
Wait, just to be clear--JGR meaning "John G. Roberts"? There's a HYS 3L clerking on the D.C. Circuit, then the Supreme Court, and *then* D.D.C.?Anonymous User wrote:He hired one guy from my HYS for his third clerkship in 2015 (following Griffith and JGR).
