Anyone hear anything from Shwartz recently? I know she sent out some interview requests last week but haven't seen any posts since then and, based on past years threads, it seems like she interviews a lot of candidates.
No, I haven't heard anything, and no one from my HYS school has either according to the clerkship office.

Any updates on Restrepo or Fuentes?

Seems like this Circuit thread is significantly quieter than others.
Anybody hear anything from the non-OSCAR EDPa judges?

[Bernie Sanders meme]

I am once again asking whether there's any update on Judge Fuentes (or Greenaway).

According to my clerkship office, Greenaway isn't planning on interviewing until he can in person.

Greenaway made an offer two weeks ago for 2022

Has anybody heard anything in the past week and a bit? Trying to figure out, based on the silence on this thread, if the Third Circuit is done hiring or if it's just that a lot of the judges are in a holding pattern and waiting until the fall.

Any word on whether Krause is totally full? I know she was at least interviewing in the early days.

Definitely hires off-plan but he might keep spots open for on-plan (I'm kind of baffled that he's still open for 2021 on OSCAR, I know someone that interviewed for him off-plan like four months ago)

Recent Penn student here - I know he sort of imagines a spot for a student he takes a shine to in one of his classes. The expectation is that he'll take the role of FedSoc accelerator at Penn from Scirica

Any opinions/knowledge on CA3 Newark Judges(Greenaway, Shwartz, Chagares, Matey) personalities, work life, etc. and just the CA3 experience in general? Thanks so much!

Anon because impressions are based on my work as a CA3 clerk. Greenaway, Shwartz, and Chagares are all great judges who as far as I can tell are beloved by their clerks. Shwartz clerks, however, put in much longer hours than the other two chambers. I don't know as much about Judge Matey. As others have mentioned, many if not most clerks commute from NY via PATH, although if you like have a family and live in suburban NJ it's also easy to drive. Loved clerking on CA3.

Second all of this. I’ve heard Matey is a great boss. Really enthusiastic about the job and building strong chambers traditions. From all interactions and anecdotes, he also seems very kind and personable.

Thanks for the feedback! I was also wondering what the day to day is like (9-5 or longer) in non-sitting weeks. Also, is Chagares considered very ideological or a mainstream judge albeit a conservative one? thanks!

Is there any appetite for clerks with work experience who would otherwise be noncompetitive stats-wise? E.g., top 10% from a T50 school, DE/SDNY BK clerkship, 1-2 years of NYC biglaw. Or is that a complete non-starter without a killer reference?

I can't speak to all chambers obviously, but those stats would probably get a look from us if the judge you clerked for called and was like hey, this guy/gal is a rockstar. Otherwise, not so much. There's just too much T14 top 10% floating around.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
