bumping: any updates on Thompson or Lipez?
How are you all applying to Thompson without an OSACR app? just mailing it? emialing it somewhere? I cannot find an email address anywhere.
I know she's historically accepted mailed applications. I'd ask your career services office for an email address.

Wasn't Boudin mysteriously inactive for quite a while? Is he anywhere near a normal caseload?

When I was applying, I'd heard some fairly negative things about the chambers environment from a former Lynch clerk. But that's secondhand info, so not sure how reliable it is.
Seconded.
Thirded. I interviewed with her and it was a pretty negative experience (totally unrelated to getting an offer). Both Lynch and the JA were cold and arrogant, the clerks seemed slightly terrified of both the JA and Lynch herself, and the atmosphere just did not seem great -- stiff, stuffy, and almost chilly. I ended up accepting an offer with a different COA judge after interviewing with COA judges on four different circuits, so I think I have a good sense of contrast/perspective of the environment within various chambers.

I also know a former Lynch clerk who, while she won't say anything overtly negative about the experience, I can tell felt similarly.

Of course, that doens't mean it's not worth just sucking it up and sticking it out for a year if you get the offer. (I would just take almost any other offer instead, if available.)

I’ve also heard absolute horror stories about Lynch from other clerks on the First Circuit. Avoid at all costs was the advice I got

He was out for a long while due to “a health scare” but I believe he hired 2 if not 3 clerks for 2021 and also heard rumors he is taking more cases again

First anon here. Forgot to mention, but part of what I heard was that the JA essentially controls chambers and was not very pleasant to work with

Does anyone know which term Thompson was/is hiring for? is it 2021 or 2022?

bumping: any updates on Thompson or Lipez?
Lipez's posting says interviews won't be scheduled until mid-August, so I'd be surprised if there were updates before then.
Any movement from Lipez?

Has anyone on here ever interviewed with Thompson? My understanding is that she doesn't have a set schedule for hiring, but would love to know what times of year she has hired/interviewed in the past

I know some CA1 judges have started interviewing, but does anyone know whether Thompson has? and if so, for which terms?

The info at my school is Thompson isn't interviewing right now and will interview at some undetermined time in the future on a rolling basis.

Does your school have any information on which term Thompson will be interviewing for when she starts?
