Hey guys! Figured I'd get in on this thread. I'm also about 90% sure I'll be attending.
There are still a couple places I'm waiting on, but a number of them are now ruled out by default and it will take something pretty compelling at Pepp or even more so at USD.
Besides, I'm pretty much ready to stop sweating this ordeal and psychologically commit.

My feelings exactly. By the way, did any of you put in your FAFSA information for the school? I just did my FAFSA stuff recently, and I'm kind of wondering if the info will go to loyola automatically, or if I have to notify them its available.

Each school has an individual school code that you need to mark off/check in order for the FAFSA info to be sent to them.

I am aware of that, and have done that. What I was asking if it automatically sends it to them after I have done that, and im assuming from your last post, the answer is yes.

Ya. I don't think you need to do anything further. A call can't girth, though

I'm still waffling between LLS and one other school (and riding one waitlist that might change my mind) but the tea leaves are starting to come up CA.

So what are everyone's plans for living arrangements this fall? I'm waffling between moving completely downtown, or commuting and setting up a crash-pad with a few other interested parties. I'm thinking for a few hundred each 3 or 4 people could set up bunk beds in a 1 bedroom and have a cheap place to sleep near school. Might be a ridiculous and inconvenient idea, though. I'm not sure, but I know people have done this.

Im probably going to be living solo; I am debating on whether living as close as possible in a worse neighborhood to save on commute time, or living further away (10-20 minutes) where living space is somewhat cheaper.
Something I have thought about lately is not wanting to live in a large brick building downtown in the event of a large earthquake. But besides that, I would really like to live close to campus.

What neighborhoods are you thinking of 10 - 20 min out? I've considered Hollywood and Silver Lake. Not sure if those areas are really much better than K-Town/Mid-Wilshire, though.
I've also thought about being as far out as Glendale or buying a boat to live on in MDR. Either of these would extend the commute time, though.

What up what up. I sent in my deposit yesterday.
So I'm thinking Korea Town...

Definitely thinking Koreatown too, want to be pretty close to campus. Now trying to find a roommate/apartment in LA while finishing school in Boston...that should be easy.

Anything and everything although I tend to be moving west more than any other direction in my search.

Oof. I didn't fully appreciate the drive until I came home from San Diego one Sunday. I felt like I was getting close at OC, but it was still another hour or so. Why not relocate closer? Free rent with parents?

I think you might get tired of that really fast.
rush hour traffic after classes at 4 o'clock will take you 3 hours to get home everyday and over an hour just to get to the school each morning.

If you're living alone, you can get a pretty good 1 bdrm apt in Ktown for a reasonable price. If you have a roommate, you can venture further away from school and be in a better area. I've lived in LA all my life and I'm currently apartment hunting in Los Feliz/Atwater Village and the Hollywood area (closer to Franklin). I just quit my job and the 1.5 hr commute each way and I'm not doing it again for 3 yrs.

I just got accepted off the waitlist from Hastings...I guess I should probably try to negotiate a higher scholy. What do you guys think? Is it too late?

Commuting from the westside can be convenient; especially if you can take the red line into 7th and metro. That way you can hop on Loyola's shuttle and be on campus in less than 5 minutes. Very convenient and easier on your wallet.

Looks like I'll be joining all of you in the fall! I thought about commuting from OC, but it's just too far of a drive. I will most likely be living solo in the downtown area for my first year. I just heard that first years are able to choose two electives now (one each semester), so that those who want to pick up a concentration can get a feel for that field beforehand. I'm pretty excited about this since I'm very interested in international law. Anyone else picking up a concentration?
