I thought I would start this thread since I haven't seen one. I'm not 100% committed on the U of U yet but it is one of my favorites.
Congrats everyone so far. Hopefully our resident SLC experts can share some info about housing/living in SLC/and lift ticket bargains!

U of U undergrad here. Looking like 50/50 shot at attending for law school. Depends on how UW treats me off of the waitlist, I suppose.
I can answer anything and everything related to any questions about the school, Utah in general, how good the ski pass discounts are... etc. haha

Also, is there some kind of official or semi-official bar review, or do people just get together and drink on their own? I noticed in the CO16 Facebook group that like half of the people listed have wedding photos as profile pictures, which makes me think having some kind of alcohol-based activity for we non-Mormons would be good.
Well you have zero choice on professors/classes your first year, so...too bad. We'll be around to give advice on specific professors when you guys get schedules.
As for groups, as far as I can tell all the student groups are great, just depends on what you're interested in.
There's an official bar review, email gets sent out pretty much every week. There's definitely enough activity for the non-mormons.

Loved Kogan (contracts) Wildermuth (civpro) Teter (conlaw) Anderson (methods) Martinez (property).
Honestly, they're all good. McCormack (torts/conlaw) is a great guy, but he won't teach you much of anything.

Can anyone provide some input on a good place to look for a house? My wife has heard that the Sugar House area is nice? We don’t have any kids, but do have Labradors and my wife will be working downtown.
Thanks!
