There will probably be plenty of 0Ls though.
You're right. I guess I'm just kind of shy but I'll get over it. Looking forward to meeting more law students and getting excited for August.

I've heard interviews are in March/April, and they accept around 5 people a year.

DAMN! I just looked at the housing rates. Ok, I need NYU to boost up the living expenses or else I seriously won't be able to afford my drinking habits. I am now saving every penny earned.

Just got an email from an NYU 3L who went to my undergrad telling me how awesome NYU is. Nice touch, NYU!

I want one! I just got a similar one from Northwestern 1L who went to my undergrad.

It's super easy to get a budget increase.

I want an email! Maybe I'm the first person EVER in the HISTORY of my undergrad to get into NYU. Yeah, I'm gonna assume that's it.

Haha that would be pretty surprising. I'm guessing these emails from current 1-3Ls are sent out whenever the students get around to it so perhaps you'll get one soon. I'm wondering if i I went to the same undergrad as the other people who got an email today :)

I'm at least the first to attend NYU from my UG, not sure about getting accepted.

My undergrad was not an Ivy, so I guess not.

That's really cool. I guess it makes sense since there are way more undergrad institutions out there than there are law schools.

I wish I knew someone who was currently at NYU (or any other law school for that matter). I feel like I don't really know much about the day-to-day of being in law school. Guess I'll figure it out soon enough!

Is anyone else just really excited for it to be August so that we can actually start going to law school? I feel like this whole application process/stressful waiting game has dragged on for far too long.

Me me me!! Now that I got into my dream school, I've sort of run out of things to be anxious about, so I'm trying to think of ways to prepare for August six months out, but I haven't thought of anything yet. I have financial plans, a moving checklist, my Uhaul budget, and apartment searches set up. I only got my pizza box last night and I've already read through the view book twice. On my way to memorizing the ASW. Maybe I'll actually go back to doing my job now?

Haha you're a woman after my own heart! I've taken to just hanging out around the law campus and getting really excited every time I see an NYU Law banner or a real live law student.

What areas are you looking for apartments in? I'm not sure I can deal with going back to dorm life so I'm planning to live off campus and am curious to see where other people are planning to live. I'm pretty sure I'll end up in Brooklyn for 2L and 3L but part of me feels like it might be better to live somewhere really close to campus for 1L (if I miraculously find somewhere within my price range).

I got an email, but it was from someone who went to a completely different undergrad, so I'm also going to assume that I'm the first from my university to go to NYU.

Just got an email too! Not from someone from my undergrad, just a current 3L. Still a very nice touch.

I got a call the other day from a 3L to just check in on me and I got an email yesterday. NYU has been way more in-contact with me than other schools, and I very much appreciate it.

Still haven't received my letter yet, though, even though I was admitted over a week ago. Boo! The pizza box will be even longer!

I think I'm going to stick to Brooklyn too. I'm the one with a dog --so the dorms are kind of out for me. I'm still looking in Manhattan at the off chance that there is something under $1,500, but they seem to be few and far between. I have a few friends in Brooklyn now, so I'm planning on going up a couple times this summer to explore the neighborhoods and figure out how to have the best possible commute.

I think you could definitely find something by NYU for under $1,500 if you're willing to have roommates. Not sure about a studio/1 bedroom in nearby Brooklyn for that price but I'll bet there are some bargains out there. I can't wait to sign an actual year-long lease on a new place. I've been hopping from sublet to sublet for the past eight months and am pretty tired of it.
