Re: Michigan Law Class of 2016
Congrats to all the new admits! 2015 Summer Starter here - let me know if you have any questions about life as a SS or 1L generally.
Also, it's never too early to start thinking about housing. I just put my apartment up on craigslist, but it's been in the Michigan Law family for a few generations now, so if anyone wants a 1bdr through the summer and then next year, PM me and let me know and I'll give you top priority. It's super cheap for a 1bdr, and I love it. (Plus never overestimate the benefit of not having to move from your summer sublet during first semester exams!)

Re: Michigan Law Class of 2016
FYI - great information on living in LC: http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 9&start=50
FlightoftheEarls really went all out in his LC review. I also asked a couple questions on the the most recent page of the 'Michigan 1Ls/2Ls/3Ls taking questions' thread.
I can't decide between living in an apt/LC. Anyone else thinking about this yet? or am I just that excited about attending Michigan?
Pros/Cons of LC?

Re: Michigan Law Class of 2016
I think the LC would be great, especially for people straight out of undergrad. However, I'm a bit older (26), am used to living in a house/apartment, have a dog, etc. and know that a house/apt will be a better choice for me. Also, after a few quick looks, finding places around the school doesn't seem that difficult.dislikeCeltics wrote:FYI - great information on living in LC: http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 9&start=50

One of the biggest positives of the LC, though, is that it is an 8 month lease and you aren't responsible for the summer. Assuming you are interning during the summer, you'll probably not be in A2, and will have to sublet your place.
I too am excited about attending Michigan and have already started looking.

I have a dog as well - so I'll definitely be looking for a place near campus that allows dogs! Let me know how the search goes. It looks like the best option will be to rent a house with an apartment inside from my initial look.zoidberg86 wrote:I think the LC would be great, especially for people straight out of undergrad. Re: Michigan Law Class of 2016
Definitely would do an apartment personally. Price for LC is extraordinarily high. Not sure if this is due to renovations or not. But you can get a very nice apartment in A2 and pay for food, utilities, etc. for 12 months for the price of LC.

Checking in! Accepted and most likely attending although still waiting on finaid from other schools before fully deciding. Definitely leaning towards Mich with its summer starter program. Still trying to wrap my mind around attending Ohio State for UG and now heading towards Mich

Quick question: I know the website states that it'll take 3-4 weeks for the admissions department to change your application to 'complete' from 'incomplete', but did it actually take this long for anyone? I'm on 3 weeks and still no update. All my other school applications were almost instantaneous. Should I be worried?

You're probably looking for the thread on the acceptances/waitlists/denials forum - but it took me like 3+ weeks to go complete. Michigan, Penn & Cornell took FOREVER to decide my app was complete.b123 wrote:Quick question: I know the website states that it'll take 3-4 weeks for the admissions department to change your application to 'complete' from 'incomplete', but did it actually take this long for anyone? Can't believe I just got in this weekend! I was already scheduled for a visit next weekend, so guess I'll be having a preview of ASW!

Who wants to spend the summer in an awesome apartment that's a three minute walk from the law school?
