Good luck!Chambo wrote:Just wanted to check in here... I was offered deferred admissions at UVA (my dream school) but I was told that I could also remain on the wait list to see how things shake out this year. I hope they can find a spot for me and I can join you in C'Ville this year!

Also, this weekend the Risk + Beer invitation is on the table again. Figured anywhere from 2-4 people would work, BYOB.

Re: UVA Class of 2016
i'm looking to sell/dump some stuff from my apartment, and quickly.
i have a desk (very sturdy, purchased from another uva law student when i started 3 years ago, he had used it for his entire 3 years), side table, and possibly small night stand. i have pictures of these things if you are interested, just PM me. the desk is relatively large and heavy and so you'd need the means to move it.
i also have an ikea dresser that is a real piece of shit. it could literally collapse at any moment. i thought that when i bought it on craigslist 3 years ago, but it has held up thus far. if nobody bites i'm just going to trash it, so you could have that for free. i don't have pictures of it, but saying it is made out of balsa wood would not be too much of a stretch

Where is everyone living? I checked out Ivy Gardens and know that they have a few open spots, but didn't look at any other places. Any recommendations?

I'm at the Jeffersonian, but that's all full. I've seen in the Pavilion, and it's nice, but from what I recall it's very expensive.Chambo wrote:Just got in! They also guaranteed my full amount of scholarship over the second and third year if they can't get money to me this year. So pumped!!!

There was a whole discussion today on the Unofficial FB about AT&T not always working in the North Grounds area. I'm with AT&T but I'm now actually considering switching to Verizon.Just wrote:AT&Tdanitt wrote:Which company are you going with?Just wrote:Anyone I the rested in sharing a family phone plan?

-The Bonnie Crim Law casebook for $100. The past few years all the sections have used this same casebook, so it should work for anybody. If your prof is doing something different, I will give you your money back. Also has lots of doodling in it.
-Chemerinsky's Constitutional Law for $50. I would say the majority of people buy this to help for Con Law. Possible you can find it a cheaper at the PILA sale, but they seems to always go really fast. I originally was going to do this for $30, but I am kind of tempted to keep it for a possible future class.
-Farnsworth's Contracts hornbook for $30. It was a recommended text for my prof.
-Law in a Flash (flashcards) for Criminal Law, Real Property, and Torts for $10 each. I never really used them, but you might find them useful.
-Civ Pro E&E, Contracts E&E, Property E&E, Evidence E&E, Crunchtime Torts, Crunchtime Civ Pro, Abraham's Torts (very good), Acing Civ Pro (very good), and Emanuel's Evidence. These are $5 each.
I will also give you a pep talk for free. Just PM me if you are interested.
