Yeah, I wussed out. I figured that having to ride the waitlist until August in hopes of getting in with a tiny amount of splitter $ was not worth having six months to plan. I want to work in the south, UVA's where I need to be for that, so I pulled the trigger.armedwithamind wrote:NOYCE. Did you do ED?North wrote:Unbelievably, I'm checking in to this thread.

Congrats to all the admits!
I'm just wondering how long it took your letters/packets(?) to get in the mail. Mine should have been mailed last Monday. I just want to see my offer on paper, and have cool things to look through and get excited about.

Congrats to everyone. I hope that UVA will let me into their school next fall. I'd love nothing more than to be there.

Congrats all!
Is anyone planning on bringing a bike and depending on it as their mode of transportation? Is Charlottesville a bike friendly place?

I'm bringing my car, but might bring my bike anyway. From what I hear, Cville is really bike friendly.shibby wrote:Congrats all!

I've lurked on this forum for such a long time--so glad I can finally post in one of these "class of" threads! Now that my status checker has changed to a Congrats message, I feel comfortable checking in here. I am so incredibly excited, UVA has been my dream school for ages!
Is anyone currently in the Chicago area? PM me if you are and want to meet a future classmate prior to ASW!
See you all in Charlottesville

I'll be bringing a bike likely along with my car, hoping to be within walking/biking distance of class bc I really don't want to have to drive. Charlottesville is pretty bike friendly infrastructure wise, maybe not so much terrain wise (hills!)shibby wrote:Congrats all!

How screwed do you guys think I'll be if I don't have a car right away? I know Charlottesville isn't a walkable city but I probably won't be coming with a car and would have to find something once I got there, which I'm guessing might take a little while. I've gotten used to public transportation since graduating in 2010, and am not excited at the thought of having to pay for gas/insurance etc. again...
P.S. If anyone is thinking about roommates right now, I'm hoping to find someone else who wants to get a 2 bedroom in Ivy Gardens or someplace cheap. 24 yr old female, PM me if you want to talk!

Live close to campus and you'll be fine from what if sounds like. Barracks Rd has everything you need I guess and it's walking distance, I think.Rhoover894 wrote:How screwed do you guys think I'll be if I don't have a car right away? Hey all, first time poster here
I'm a 21 year old girl coming straight out of undergrad looking for another girl to split a 2 bedroom apt, probably in Ivy Garden. I'm a non-smoker, no pets, pretty neat, and I like to go out/have fun a few times a week but I'm also pretty work-driven. PM me if you're interested!
