Hey, if you guys could indulge me for a quick PSA...
Create a profile and fill out your admissions stats on lawschoolnumbers.com. I found that site incredibly helpful throughout this process. I was hoping to get some more data points on there for future classes. And be sure to list whether or not you were a NC resident.
Again, the URL is http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com
Thanks.

Hey guys!
Really excited to move to chapel hill this summer. Anyone know where they're living yet? Heard that a lot of grad students live more in carrboro.
I went to nc state undergrad so I'm in Raleigh right now.
Anyone else in the Raleigh/ncsu area?

I'm living around North Raleigh now. Did my undergrad at State. Can't wait to rag on Carolina fans in real time next football/basketball season.Brighty wrote:Hey guys!

We'll be friends. I am from North Raleigh, and though I didn't go to state, I grew up as a state fan.

Apple Laptop for sure. (I assume you mean to use as your primary computer.) No one wants to look at an iPad screen when you're writing a paper.

Just saying hello to everyone. I got accepted today and will be joining you all at UNC this fall. My wife got a position at Duke (booo) and we are moving to Durham at the end of June. I think I just sold my house today as well, so I guess today's been a good day, huh? Anyone know whether Durhamrent.com is the best place to find a rental house in the area? Congrats to everyone else who will be headed to Chapel Hill.

I dont know who you guys are talking to in admissions. I just called and the lady I talked to said that all she could tell me was that I was complete and she couldnt give me anything more than what was on the status checker.

From the sounds of it I should go with the laptop - does anyone know which would be better, the Apple air or the macbook pro.

The pro is overkill for LS, and I think the extra pound or two that the Air saves you is worth it. That being said, if you can wait a couple of months you should. They will have the iTunes gift card promo, and will supposedly be updating the Pros to the form factor of the Air.Giantsfan13 wrote:adelefan wrote:Apple Laptop for sure. Also, let me know how you like The Park after you move in. It looks like a great deal, but I'm worried anywhere that cheap will be filled with undergrads.

That was what I was worried about two, so we went by there on several weekend nights and I am sure that ill not be an issue. Also there is an 11pm noise ordinance in chapel hill . . and if it were to ever come to that . . and I am sure it wont. I will have no qualms about ensuring its enforcement.

Anyone else get an error when trying to pay the deposit?
I got the following error: "You are not eligible to pay your seat deposit at this time. Please contact law_admissions@unc.edu if you have any questions."
Edit: I was able to pay. If you get this message just wait a few hours and try again.

I had that message last week but I have since been able to pay the deposit. I did nothing except try again to pay it. On a related note, for those who have deposited has your status checker updated to show that you have paid your deposit? My seat deposits have not been checked off under the requirements list yet.PurplePirate wrote:Anyone else get an error when trying to pay the deposit?

I paid my deposit today, got an automated confirmation email, and then an additional confirmation from the admissions office, and my status checker updated to show the deposits checked off. I would say if it's been more than a couple of days, check with the admissions office to make sure they received payment. The Psych Pineapple wrote:I had that message last week but I have since been able to pay the deposit. Re: UNC Law Class of 2015
can anyone suggest the "best" way to commute to UNC law school from outside of chapel hill area (more specifically, south of durham) as i heard parking is nearly impossible near the school? i looked to see if i could take the bus, but according to google transit, it'd take over an hour...

Sent my deposit this week. Got my place at Baity Hill. Moving out with my wife from California.
So much excitement as anticipation!
Anybody know when to expect GRAD Plus to be approved? I submitted the MPN and Counseling a while back.

I'm a graduating Duke 3L selling a 3BR/2BA house right off I-40 near Southpoint in Durham. Actually closer to UNC Law than Duke Law. Thought I'd post it here. Ideal for couples where one will be in Durham/RTP while you are at UNC. House is 5 min from RTP. Walkable to bus stop that stops right in front of school. PM me if interested.
