I won't make it to ASD (pre-planned anniversary trip to Italy), unfortunately. You all will have to report back -- I've seen the campus and the surrounding area, and I'm semi-familiar with Atlanta, but I've seen very little of the school itself.

I'm 90% sure I'll commit too. Unfortunately, I live in LA and I can't make it to ASD. But I'm visiting the week after, and hopefully they can answer my couple of concerns about the recent drop in OCIs and employment stats. I've heard the campus is beautiful and Atlanta's supposed to be a great city.

I'm leaning that way too, though I get concerned with some of the negative talk that gets thrown and Emory on here and some of the angry student websites I've come across. I'm in cali too so I couldn't afford the flight there and back with my wife. Is it unrealistic to think about being able to get a job outside of GA without being top of the class, or ...? any thoughts?

Just moved to ATL (beginning of March) with family for husbands job. I have investigated and navigated, so I can answer some questions for housing.
Hi!i am currently looking for apt around Emory. Do you have any suggestions? I am considering campus crossing because the apts there are furnished. I dont like moving things around. What abt other neighborhoods, such as President Park, Highland Lake and Emory Woods?

Thx for ur help.

It all depends on if you have transportation. I drove by campus crossings by chance today and the building directly across from it had a sketchy/dirty/possibly-tons-of-chemical-dependency vibe going on. It was scary. If you have transportation, you have more options.

I, personally, went east of campus into the suburbs.

I can say this: I make a 5:30 drive from that part of town (heading northwest) and the traffic is NOT as horrible as I thought it would be. I would rather drive in rush hour everyday than ever touch weekend traffic anywhere in town.

There are lots of apartment complexes to choose from. Campus Crossings and Post seem to be the most popular ones, but there are pricier options out there as well (Gables?)

Rising 2L if anyone has any questions. When I was starting at Emory I found an awesome 2L on TLS who helped me out, so will be glad to pass it forward.
