Yes, and signing the lease is quite easy, they even provide a powerpoint. Just moved in this weekend and I have to say I love the apartment.Do we go to:

One more question: my appointment is at 11am. I gave myself a bit of a cushion just in case the plane is late, there's traffic, etc. If I get there early, am I allowed to sign in prior to the appointment time?

Has anyone signed a one bedroom lease as a couple yet? If so, how strict were they with paperwork?

Sorry, don't know about that Bronk.
My SO and I were living abroad, so we were a bit stressed about our couple's paperwork. We emailed a copy to the Law school housing liaison, and she was able to confirm it was ok after a few days. At the actual meeting they seemed to barely check it, so you should probably be alright.Has anyone signed a one bedroom lease as a couple yet? If so, how strict were they with paperwork?

How was everyone's move in? I'll be getting in earlier next week, but I'll be driving. Is there parking around there? I don't want to be carrying my furniture a few blocks because I couldn't find a parking spot.

Didn't even know those were an option. I'm just going to do a judicious mixture of easy at-home meals, e.g., pastas and eating out.theaether wrote:for ppl that don't cook and don't eat out every meal, r you guys gettin dem dining options? wonder if it's worth it

You don't want to get a dinner group going?Bronck wrote:Didn't even know those were an option. I decided to give it further thought, and while I generally like dinner groups or in-class snack groups, I get a bad feeling about implementing one in law school. I deem it a terrible idea.
To the original question, I doubt there's enough dining options to not get sick of it. I don't have experience, but my gut says its not worth it.

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2015
Hey guys, 2L here. Just wanted to say that I have a huge box of books from last year that I'm looking to sell. Have the casebooks and E&Es for basically every subject, plus lots of other supplements and law in a flash, all pretty much unused. I figured it's easier for everyone if I try to sell them to you guys. Let me know by PM if you would be interested in anything, and I'll try to give you a run-down of what I have. If you let me know what case books you are looking for, if I don't have it I'm sure one of my friends will.

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2015
If I go to "ssol.columbia.edu" and click on 'Grades and Registration Status', it show my Section as 001. Anyone know if this information is accurate or simply a placeholder?

Mine also says section 001. Either it's a placeholder or we're in the same section!KevinP wrote:If I go to "ssol.columbia.edu" and click on 'Grades and Registration Status', it show my Section as 001. Anyone know if this information is accurate or simply a placeholder?

001 here. Think we can safely say placeholder (though I wouldn't turn down a party also).

Same here. Probably placeholder or else they tracked all the TLSers and put them in one section

You like the implicated idea of Columbia knowing who you are on tls? I could make it happen if you wanted.Bronck wrote:

I don't think it would be too difficult to figure out who we are just from our TLS profiles. Also, I vote party.

Speaking of parties... over in the NYU thread wondering if there'd be any interest in a CLS-NYU TLS get together before classes start, and if so, when you guys have orientation?

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2015
Our orientation is August 22nd-27th. Classes are the 29th.
So looks like if we do something, it'd be with people already (of which there are definitely some, myself included). Or if people aren't terribly stressed at the beginning of classes, we could do something soon thereafter... thoughts?

It's my impression that there is already a White Party/Exchange on Aug. 25th for the two schools.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
