EW! Wacka Flocka and J. Cole, I'll pass. LOLjfish wrote:Who wants to come with me to the Drake - J. Cole - Waka Flocka Flame concert May 30?! I know it's the day before our first class but... Drizzy!
It's in Clarkston, which Google Maps says is a little over an hour from Ann Arbor.

Clarkston is my hometown (my first job was working in parking and vouchers for that venue, actually). If you end up going and need to know of local restaurants/best driving directions/want to know what the venue is like/whatever, let me know.jfish wrote:Who wants to come with me to the Drake - J. Detroit is just as close, if not closer. They do get decent shows of all sorts as well.JustE wrote:Happy to hear they have hip hop concerts near AA. I'll def need to get out and see a decent show every now and then.

Yes, but Clarkston is full of yuppies where you can walk around freely. In Detroit I'm always worried I'm going to get shot/mugged.sanguar wrote:Detroit is just as close, if not closer. Concerts aren't my scene, even nice outdoors ones like at DTE. Also, official tickets aren't being sold yet. I'd wait until they go on sale and check the venue's website.jfish wrote:Does this mean one of you wants to come with me?UnamSanctam wrote:Yes, but Clarkston is full of yuppies where you can walk around freely. Okay, I think I'm kind of late to the game... But... The 2012 US News Rankings. U of M down to #10! Thoughts?

Re: Michigan Law Class of 2015
You are late, and we have none. It was a drop of literally one point but because UVA and Berkeley gained the same 1 point then the shift was three spots. I really don't see where this is going to be significant enough to really make a difference in the hiring. Of course, if the school were to drop three more spots next year and the year after that it might be a problem but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none.sandwiches5000 wrote:Okay, I think I'm kind of late to the game... I'll sum it up:sandwiches5000 wrote:Okay, I think I'm kind of late to the game... But... The 2012 US News Rankings. U of M down to #10! Thoughts?
1. Michigan, Penn, Virginia, & Berkeley are peer schools. They play musical chairs in the rankings every year.
2. I believe Michigan's raw score is exactly the same as it was last year (maybe a point lower, not sure). It didn't move much, but Penn, Virginia, & Berkeley improved enough to budge them ahead of Mich and into a tie.
3. Even though Michigan fell 3 spots in the rankings (behind a 3-way tie) it's still in the same spot its been in for years, somewhere in the MPVB block.
4. No one cares. The name kicks ass. If you were considering it before, you should still consider it now.
:0)
ETA: Oh yeah, you should come. The school freakin rocks. hth

Hey uh...question for the class.
Any future Wolverines kicking off their law school journey on a long distance relationship? SO will be in one of Chicago or Boston during 1L year...
Also, anyone else apply to live in the Phid House?

Re: Michigan Law Class of 2015
My girlfriend lives on the west side of the state, so we'll be over an hour apart (we're actually 2.5 hours apart now though, so it's better). Probably for the best, since we won't have much time for each other next year anyway.DaftAndDirect wrote:Hey uh...question for the class.
