How about Option 3: Just fucking pass at a T25+ and get my JD
Oh wait, I forgot this is TLS. HYS OR BUST!!!

I picked the first because those were the only choices, but the real answer would be somewhat qualified.
Bottom of the class at Yale > Top of the class at T10 > Bottom of the class at Harvard/Stanford.
Again, that's just what I would pick, not what would necessarily be "better" in a given situation.

I think a lot of people would take $$ at a T10 over HYS if you could guarantee them top 10%. I know I would.

Ermmm... what is the "Bottom of the class" standard? Bottom 50%? Or bottom 10%? I'll consider bottom 50% at HYS over top 50% at CCN or top 33% at MVPB.

yale isn't some magical place insulated from problems. If there are problems facing H/S students, yale students feel them too. If you're screwed being in bottom 10% at H/S you're screwed being bottom 10% at Yale. Problem is no one can tell who is in the bottom 10% at Yale or Stanford. Probably can from Harvard if you have a bunch of LP. But still very hard to tell.
and HYS isn't some magical place compared to rest of T10. Id' argue that Top 10% at T10 > median at HYS.

I'd prefer an actual "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. I was lured by false promises.

If you chose the top 10% at a T10, then:

I chose top 10% at a T10. Obviously if the choice were between top 10% at a T10 and top 10% at HYS, it would be a no-brainer in favor of HYS. But now it's a no-brainer the other way.
When you're in the top 10%, you have a much easier time getting onto law review, other journals, internships, clinics, etc. In addition, just the fact that you are at the top of your class makes you feel confident and more happy about school. In the bottom of the class (at any school), it's much harder psychologically. And in terms of jobs, the top 10% at at least some of the T10s gives you much better job opportunities than the bottom of HYS. Almost every top 10% T10 grad can get a good clerkship/V5 job/government position/PI position of his choice. (Barring bad luck or bad interview skills.) Not so at the bottom of HYS.

If I were a law firm HR rep, I would much rather hire top 10% at CCN than bottom 10% at HYS. The admissions process is imperfect, and to me a top 10% CCN is better prepared to be an excellent attorney than a bottom 10% HYS.

No one even really knows who is median at HYS. There is a swath from 30% -70% that could be around the median. I would say that Top 10% at T-10 = or > median at HYS. This is from friends at HYS that have told me about what its like around median. Anyone that would rather be at the bottom of HYS then the top10% of a T-10 is an idiot.

This is a silly question. Anyone choosing bottom of the class at HYS has some serious issues.

By an enormous, enormous margin.
The legal profession is OBSESSED with being a pretend little meritocracy. So while there's much more leeway at a school like HYS, the big opportunities still go to the people at the top of the class.
Hell, I'd take top 10% at any T14 over top third at HS (maybe even Y, but Y is a bit different since I'm sure ranking is less meaningful there). Top of your class + national law school >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "also ran, didn't screw up" at HYS in every imaginable way.

I too was hoping for a real choose your own adventure.
Not sure why people are weighing S differently than Y here.

How do you even tell who is at the bottom of the class P/HP grading?
