I think Ebay is a great place to get the PLI stuff.

The market price for the most recent version is listed usually around $500-800, but during the last minute, they usually sell for about $1100-$1300.

On the other hand, if you want to wait, buying a non-updated version (like version 2), only went for like $30 last I checked on Ebay. All you had to do is look up the updates yourself (which may be a hassle), but is sure a lot cheaper.

What I am willing to pay depends upon how recent it is and what condition it is in...

Probably around 800, so PM if you have anything to offer

Really? The version 2 that I bid on Wednesday went for $560. I was outbid with 4 seconds left.

It appears that right now there is demand for study materials.

Back during the year, nobody bought them and you can probably buy the materials on ebay for under 1k. Now, there are like 10+ bids on them, and it is likely they will sell for 13k plus (I have been watching the results). Yikes.

It looks like the population of TLSers with Patent Bar materials is very small. What are you going to do? I really need some damn study materials and I cant afford 2600+ and 1800+. My problem is that I heard PLI is essential.

Some people on the IntelPropLaw forums used OmniPrep ($400-$500) and said they passed. I might just go with PLI anyway.

bought some on ebay
expensive though
but ultimately i think it will be worth it as passing the exam before law school starts will surely look good on my resume (at least thats what i think)

I tried to buy one recently, but it went for a whopping $1525, so I might lay low for awhile and just share materials with one of my friends and use the free online materials.

I've been using patbar materials and I keep watching them sell between 300-650 on ebay recently... I havent looked at the PLI materials but patbar has been pretty good so far (I guess I wont know for sure until its exam time). I'll have mine for sale in a month or two as well

I decided against using PLI... way too expensive. I bought bullseye, but I don't know if it'll be enough. :?

Anyone hear anything about Patent Education Series Bar Prep and know if it's any good?

I got a great deal on both PLI and patbar.com. I posted a "want to buy PLI home study course" thread on intelproplaw.com and a guy responded that he'd give me PLI and patbar for $800. I'd recommend looking somewhere other than Ebay. It seems that the market value on EBay for PLI is around $1500 right now. However, I just saw this posting on Craiglist for $899... --LinkRemoved-- . I'd look through Craigslist for now since Ebay seems to be very high.

To register go to http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/dcom/gcounsel/oed.htm . Go to examination registration which will take you to a pdf that you can't save. Complete and print out that form, it is pretty self-explanatory, and submit (the address is on the form as well).

I snagged my PLI home course (audio CDs) for $900 plus shipping. I think summer is probably a terrible time to look for materials on eBay though, because of a) 0Ls who want to knock it out before law school, and b) 1Ls who want to knock it out before OCI.

Good luck though. It's well worth the price. I'm going to be sitting for the exam in two weeks and in just over a month the course took me from no knowledge of patent law to scoring in the mid-to-high 80's on practice tests.

I've made it through MPEP 100-700 and the codes that go with them. It's finally starting to come together. I have the audio cds, not the DVDs. The DVDs are probably worth a little more. I find myself thinking how goofy john white must look. I'm kind of curious whether all patent attorneys lack personality.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
