I am disturbed by the Supreme Court’s recent decision to strike down affirmative action policies in college admissions. This ruling places an unnecessary burden on Black students to prove the effects of racism through their college admissions essays. This requirement reinforces a narrative of exceptionalism and individualism that paints Black success as an individual struggle rather than a collective effort against systemic oppression. It perpetuates a racial divide by not requiring white applicants to account for their unearned advantages.

Racial inequities are deeply entrenched in our society, and the recent ruling further entrenches this divide. We should continue advocating for policies prioritizing social justice and redressing historical wrongdoings inflicted upon people of color.

What point will reparations end? 2123?

How many trillions are sufficient? 5? 10?

So you'd like a new SCOTUS case claiming that after Students for Fair Admissions, there's now an unequal burden to prove racial hardship, in that you are spending 3 hours on an admissions essay?

We've already been through this, historically. When Calif ended Aff Act there was a dramatic decrease in minority admissions in the U of C system. Gradually, minority admissions is back to where it was before Aff Act ended in Calif, Prop 209, see wiki.

The UC system is very skillful at workarounds

And, a side issue, why is it that Justice Thomas wants all this to end?
And Dershowitz, one of the biggest Liberals of all time, and with an unblemished record of voting Dem, also wants Aff Act to end.
