"Celebrity" Professors at Law Schools Forum

Recently, it was reported that Kamala Harris' husband will be teaching a class at Georgetown Law. Former FBI Director James Comey is also slated to teach a class next year at Columbia Law. This trend of notable people teaching law classes is sure to influence some students' decisions of which law schools to attend, so it begs the question - are notable figures sure to be great educators? Or is the grab for attention detracting from schools and classes taught by better (though less notable) teachers? Let us know your take!

I don't even think most professors at top law schools are "great educators." They're certainly accomplished and have achieved many great things, but I had some better undergraduate professors than what I did at my law school. A successful legal career and law degree from HYS does not provide one with training on how to teach the law. Sure, there were a few law professors I had that were great, but many others were not outstanding in any meaningful way.

To answer your question, I couldn't care less.
