Advice on Job Applications

Post by lj6711297 » Mon Aug 17, 2020 7:37 pm

Not sure how to handle applying to firms with multiple listings:

Current rising 2L applying to firms for SA positions. Notice a few times that firms have multiple listings (ie 2021 SA for IP Litigation and then 2021 SA for Patent Prosecution), and I am wondering how to go about this. Can I apply to them both? And if so (which was my plan), I was going to tailor cover letters to each position. Using the example above, on one cover letter talk about litigation experience and how I am interested in that, and then prosecution and how I am interested in that in the other. The obvious question is: Could this hurt you if they received 2 applications with conflicting information?

Any advice is helpful.

Thank you.
