Take Home vs In Class Exam

How do you all approach these ? Are there any meaningful differences?

It really depends on the teacher, but take-home exams tend to be longer. So the most meaningful difference (generally) is that you have more time to write well and edit your work.

And in terms of studying, would you basically study the same way for both?

Yes. If your exam has a weird format, the professor will probably let you know when you're closer to taking it. If your professor is a sadist and doesn't let you use notes or books during the exam, that might change your studying methods a bit, but that's the only thing I can think of that should really have an effect.

For a take home you can use notes on your computer so you can have a messier outline and just control+F that shit. Also you have a little bit more time typically so you don’t have to memorize something like case names, since you can look them up if you need to. But generally you should be studying the same for the most part.
