Re: Most Prestigious Moot Court Competitions?
JESSUP!!!! It presents a hypothetical dispute between two fictitious countries raising question of first impression in public international law; next year's dispute involves nuclear disarmament and naval warfare.
Over 700 schools from 150 countries compete in this competition. Each country has national rounds (the U.S. has regional rounds), and the winners of these rounds participate in the international rounds in D.C. every April. The two finalist teams compete before judges from the International Court of Justice.
The last American team to make it to the world championship round was Penn, in 2016.
This past year the finalists were from Australia and Jamaica.
It is not only very prestigious, but a great way to make friends from all over the world.

"In the competition's final round, . . . the two remaining teams argue a case before a panel that usually consists of one U.S. Supreme Court justice and two judges from the United States courts of appeal."

Depends what you mean by 'prestige'. NYU's Marden Finals routinely get SCOTUS/COA judges, like Ames. Nationwide, the Andrews Kurth competition is probably the most 'prestigious' in terms of talent and competitiveness. You have to get an invitation to compete, and who gets invited is determined by how well your school's moot court team did in several competitions that year. If you win Kurth, you've won the 'title'.

if USNWR doesn't rank it, it's not worth ranking.
