Reality Check After Fall Semester

I go to a T-6 (USNWR) school and got 2 A-s and a B. Honestly, this whole process is entirely new to me (no lawyers in my family or even in my network of friends), so I really don't know what it means (and would appreciate some sympathy rather than snark since I'm looking for guidance). No one here talks openly about their grades so it's hard to know where I stand. What does a B honestly mean from a school like this as far as big law prospects go? Are clerkships out the window? Again, apologies for being a noob.

It means you're doing just fine. Keep it up.

In a vacuum, grades mean very little. Its all about class rank and how you compare to your peers. At any of the schools in the T6 (excepting those that don't give letter grades), so long as you are near median - and likely quite a bit less than median - you are doing fine. Clerkships are a different ball game, so I won't comment there.

A- A- B would put you just above median at CLS I think. Not sure about NYU. (You obviously don't go to Chicago, Harvard, Yale or Stanford).
Getting a job with firms should be no problem. Circuit clerkships and SDNY/EDNY/CDCA/NDCA type districts are likely out without significant grade improvement over the next 1 or 2 semesters.

Its low stone. Those are good grades. Nothing is 'out', it depends on how next semester goes.

You're 100% fine for jobs.

I said "without significant improvement". I stand by that. No one is clerking on a circuit with low stone.

Wait, what's "low stone"?

Harlan Fiske Stone is an honors designation that puts you in anywhere from the top 40% to the top 8-9%. OP's grades probably put him at about top 35% give or take.
