Con Law 2...Civil Liberties

Any tips for this class? The cases seem to not be grounded in any "rule" like Con Law 1 was. The only thing I'm picking up is the different level of scrutiny the court uses to determine if said law infringes on a suppose civil liberty is valid. Should I bust out Chemerinsky, which got me an A in Con Law 1?
