Top Law Schools

Received an offer after I spent the summer with Big Law firm. How long is it acceptable to sit on my offer? We have till Oct. 1 and its late August now. Is it bad form not to accept ASAP? Want to get into a specific practice area so wanted to take some time to show my interest or talk to other firms who could hire me straight into that practice area.

Any advice is appreciated.
