Main Focus of 2L year

Hello All,
What would you say is the main focus of 2L year now that 1L is behind us?
I would like to say 2L is all about finding a job whereas 1L is all about grades. Also some other things 2L is about: working/doing well on law review/journal, making stronger connections.
Would you consider 2L to be about grades as well strongly? If so distinguish it from 1L grades. Also there is less stress 2L year, not as much briefing (I'm assuming people will still brief for some of their classes, right?)
Care to add?

you, specifically, should focus on how to write better.

I think people still wear briefs to class. But I'm more of a boxer guy myself.

I didn't even brief cases in 1L. 2L was all about maintaining grades and managing time to spend on journal, other ECs and Netflix.

I only briefed because our briefs were a grade for one particular class. Civ pro I made my own brief model and received the highest final grade as well as midterm.

Here is a secret..... grades always matter. They matter just as much 2L year as 1L year. You should strive to have the highest grades possible (even 3L year). You never know when it will come in handy.
Someone mentioned writing which is good advice; try to find courses that allow you to write. Also, pursue courses you are actually interested. Finally, think about what subjects are on the bar in your state. One thing I wish I would have done was taken a U.C.C. or sales course (since my K course did not address this topic) or a Crim Pro course. Those would have been helpful for the bar exam.

Not really, writing doesn't matter for shit, if you're corporate.
Also, I mean sure grades can be good if you're gunning for latin honors. But let's be serious, if you already have like a 3.2 or something, fuck it and enjoy the rest of your time in law school. This is all assuming you've secured your big law corp job during OCI.

This all really depends on your goals. If you're not doing biglaw, then you should spend 2L doing everything possible to make yourself an attractive job applicant. Good grades, journal or moot court, publications, externships, etc.

What do you mean if I'm not doing big law I should focus on this? Big law doesn't care about E.C, writing?

You said if I'm not doing big law I shouldn't focus on what you mentioned above (Good grades, journal or moot court, publications, externships, etc.) I thought big law cares about this stuff. Ec means extra-cirricular

Spoiler alert: If you're doing BigLaw it doesn't matter what you do as a 2L because you already have a BigLaw summer offer and they don't really care what you do in school after that
