Grades in midterm

Hello,
So...I got my exam's score. it was a multiple choices exam --> 10 questions (one pt for each).
anyway, the mean is 6.2, I got 5. and the midterm constitutes 30% of the total.
so where does that put me? is there any chance to fix that (since I still have 70%)? or should I just drop the course?
I'm really disappointed

That's a really bizarre midterm, what class is it? And impossible to say not knowing your current year or class rank position. That being said, if you kill your final there's no reason you couldn't still scratch by with maybe top 20% grade ~B+/A-. Know plenty of people who have gotten their shit together after a poor midterm.

LLM student here.
Contracts.
This is my first course in the law school & I do not have any other courses for now. So I do not have a rank. I need 20 cridets to graduate. Contracts=3 criedts.
I am afraid that it might hurt my GPA, and I just want to know what are my chances.

I don't think you can drop a required class as a LLM. Even if you could I probably wouldn't, in the grand scheme of things a mediocre score on a midterm is going to have practically no affect on your overall GPA.

Now, how can this difference between my score and the mean affect on my grade. I know it is slightly less than the mean.
I mean if the average is let's say B+ where does that put me? If the mean is 6.2 does that mean no one with a score less than the average will take B+? --> I am just talking about this exam.
Sorry I am really confused with the curve thing!

Ah that makes more sense, yeah the curve thing can be confusing.
Your school should have announced to you their curve. If not, I'm sure you can probably look online what the mean is. If the mean at your school's curve is a B+, that means that a 6.2 ON THE MIDTERM is a B+. You could still get an A- in the class by doing well in the exam.
