I was looking at getting the contracts supplement from 2001 because it's literally 50 cents, vs 15 dollars for the 2010 edition and 30 for 2013. How much has contract law changed since 2001? Is it enough for me to shell out the extra money or is it just a couple of cases I can look up myself?

I'd say you'd be fine with the 2001 version because contracts has basically been the same for a long time. But I mean, look at the readings in your syllabus. It's going to vary based on what your prof is teaching. I wouldn't worry too much because supplements are precisely that – a supplement to assist you beyond the casebook.

That said, does your library have the newer one? At my school, the new editions of supplements were often on 'reserve' so you could only use them for a few hours in the library. I usually checked out the old edition to have at home and if for some reason I needed to look at the new one because our class had covered a newer case or whatever, I'd use that one in the library.

It does, but I definitely don't want to rely on the library copy if something like 25% of the book is going to be different.

also, those things are probably going to be used like crazy during finals. I might just go to the library and take a cursory look through both to see what the difference is.

It probably varies school to school, but it was rare that someone had a book I wanted. Most people just don't take advantage of the library.

Fair point. I'm about to spend money on supplements like a sucker.
