Do/did you use a paper planner in law school?
Lurker here, coming out to hopefully get some feedback from fellow law students, recent grads, etc.
I am a paper planner devotee - but I have been unsuccessful in finding one that is "perfect" (for me) for law school. So I'd like to design my own, aimed at law students/bar prep and possibly practicing (although I am not there yet).
If you use/enjoy a paper planner, would you mind sharing what sections or areas you find most helpful, or what you'd like to see in a planner? The one I am currently using has a page for each day, broken up into a schedule area, to do list, and notes section.
My classmates have suggested things like an area for each class to write down readings/assignments, tracking exercise/meals/water intake, or an "upcoming" or "remember" section.
Open to all thoughts and suggestions. Thanks for reading!

Lol. If I tried just "remembering" things I'd probably be engaging in malpractice.seespotrun wrote:Grow up and remember things like an adult

Yeah, your clients would suffer horribly if you didn't track your meals and exercise and water intake. But, seriously, memorializing assignments is not at all unique to law school. This is a dumb thread.A. Nony Mouse wrote:Lol. If I tried just "remembering" things I'd probably be engaging in malpractice.seespotrun wrote:Grow up and remember things like an adult

Obviously planning/writing down assignments is not something unique to law school... My question was IF you prefer this method, what features do you find helpful/would you like to see?
Not everyone this method, which is fine. I'm simply trying to reach those who do.

People like planners. Just because it's not unique to law school doesn't mean people in law school don't/shouldn't use planners. Let them cook.
(You may not have seen blogs/forums/YouTube videos devoted to the cult of Filofax/Erin Condren/other planners. This is mild.)

This is the paper planner that I use:
http://www.ataglance.com/ataglance/brow ... m/YP102_15
I like it because one column is appointments on the half-hour and the other column is a to do. I write my assignments (reading page ranges) and everything else I need to remember there. Works great for me!

Re: Do/did you use a paper planner in law school?
I love paper planners to track what I need to get done and used them throughout UG but never cared much about what it looked like. I liked the ones where 3 days would be to a page. I didn't write that much stuff so it was enough room.
I sort of just use my iPhone now though. I'll probably stick with that when classes start unless I can cop a free one like at UG.
