MPRE 2015

Hello,
This is a new thread for those taking the MPRE 2015. I saw that there was an older thread regarding this exam but it was way too old. I wanted to start a fresh one.
I was just wondering if any of you have are getting ready to take the August MPRE exam next week. Need some mpre buddies here
Just annoying that it's hard to tell how the MPRE is roughly scored though. Will be on here till the MPRE is fully scored.
How is everyone doing with their preparation?

Yeah its definitely easy to forget and exam like this. Wish we didn't have to take this exam in addition to the katrillion other things we have to do just to prepare for the bar. but at least we are in this together. 5 days left till the exam.

I think the timing for the exam is pretty reasonable, just hate the way the answers are written.

I'm taking it on Saturday. I watched the Barbri lecture and will drill some questions this week. How much prep should I put into this thing?

It's a little tricky. I think it's definitely worth the time to drill 1-2 tests just to get a feel for how stuff is written. I got something like a 110 after watching the lecture and doing 4 practice tests in the Barbri book. I definitely spent way too much time on it (even then it wasn't that much).

Thanks for the advice! Most of my friends say "it's a joke" and that they studied the night before and passed, but I have also overheard students say they took it for granted and failed. I'm still working at my summer job, so don't want to do too much extra work.

Thanks for the responses guys. I have been primarily been using Themis to prepare. I also hear from a lot of ppl that the test is a "joke" but I don't really want to bank on these statements. I want to study and prepare for it because I do have to get familiar with the way the test is written. Anyone have an idea how the raw score thing works? I hear you need around 32-33/60 to be in the safe zone... So if 10 of them are actually not being scored, does that mean you have to do slightly less on the exam or what? Confusing.
For those who did well on the MPRE, what were you scoring raw on your practice tests? Thanks.

The test isn't really a joke (and neither is PR--not sure why people say that), but the standard for passing is really, really low. People study for 2 hours and get a 95+. I studied more than average and only pulled a 94, but I'm blaming it on my awful test center.

The questions are actually somewhat difficult, but the "joke" aspect is the incredibly low threshold to pass. My friends and I actually had no idea whether we passed after the exam was over.
I never understood the scoring either, but I was at roughly 38-42 on the practice tests and like I said I got ~110 scaled.

oh okay gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.

Just hope that it won't be so bad. I always tend to get worried over every exam no matter what. Hopefully it will go well. When I did the practice questions I did realize that I had ample time left which is good too.

Yeah, time is definitely not a problem. I left well before the exam period was over. If you get overly-worried, just drill some practice tests and build some confidence. Your scores will fluctuate, but you'll learn a lot from reading the explanations. At worst, you can also sign up for other test companies and use their materials too, but I absolutely don't think anyone needs to do that.

I thought all the major companies (Barbri, Kaplan, Themis) gave out their MPRE outlines for free online? I'm pretty sure that's how I snagged Kaplan.

I've also been doing these practice questions
http://www.rongolini.com/mpre/mpreexams.htm
Wish I could access more questions though. The last two practice questions have NO answer key.

I put in 12 hours of study and got a 108. Maybe overkill, but I came out of the test knowing I had passed.
Basically read the themis outline twice, watched all the videos and did about 200 questions.

A little less than 4 hours of studying here, but took the MPRE the same semester I took PR, so I guess that's relevant. 103.

How were you fairing on the practice questions if you do not mind my asking? Did you practice test from both? Thanks.

I can't remember. Somewhere between 60-70%.
I took themis practice questions. I took one practice test provided by themis.

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know beause I am finding the questions to be extremly trickish, and they always put two very well written answers there--with one extra wording that can make all the difference. I am doing the Barbri now though. Working on the online practice questions. Thank you for your help on this 3|ink. It is greatly greatly appreciated.

Taking it this Saturday as well. About to start studying. Most friends said to put in no more than 3 days.
I took PR last Fall; wish I'd taken the exam in the spring. I plan on reading through my outline from the Barbri video and looking at the free stuff Themis provides.

Yeah me too. I plan on just reading the outline again. My subscription to barbri mpre has expired and I might have to sign up again for it. 3 day left now until the exam.

hI,
I failed last march and got 78 instead of 85....
I took the three barbri online sets and score 37/36/35 out of 60
I took a kaplan test today (number 4) and scored 38/60
What score do I need to get this damn 85 ?
I'm really stressed about this test because i'm glad that people studied for 10mn and passed with 130 but it is not my case ..
