I'm relying on and using a property supplement from 2010. Did any major aspects of Property Law for a 1L class change at all from 2010-2014 that using a 2010 supplement is a bad idea? I'm using that edition because it is the only edition keyed to my 2014 textbook on Property Law. But is it going to be outdated?

For example, I know that for a course like Civil Procedure it's always best to have the updated versions of every book since the law changes year to year.

Would appreciate the help.

If it's keyed to your casebook then you should have little problem recognizing any differences. If your casebook has a case after 2009, be sure to look closely at it.

ETA, I can't think of a ton of super-recent cases. If there are some, they're probably in the areas of implied warranty of suitability or division of compensation for condemnation on commercial leases, or something else like that, which you're probably not likely to get deep into in a 1-semester property course. (If you cover the Davidow case, the Italian Cowboy case might be in the notes after).

That takings clause & zoning jurisprudence doe. If you do the pseudo-con law stuff in your class it'll be on the exam and there might be recent, relevant case law. Otherwise yea, the Sprankling supplement is great and fee simple has been a fee simple for just about ever.

Because it's a better way to learn than digging through an 8-10 page opinion for two lines of text or listening to confused classmates trying to figure out a life estate with a contingent remainder.
